Working as part of a team, the Estimator, Special Projectswill provide overall support of multidisciplined Construction Projects in the City of Calgary and surrounding area.  Primary responsibility will be the accurate and timely preparation of cost estimates and proposals.  Extended responsibilities will include assisting with the development of project schedules, preparing monthly billings and providing guidance for Project Managers and Superintendents within the Volker Stevin Contracting team.

The Ideal Candidate for this position will possess the following:

Qualifications and Experience:

• 5+ years estimating experience or a combination of field and estimating.
• CET or P.Eng preferred, however a combination of relevant education and heavy construction experience will be considered.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suits
• Experience with construction estimating software (Hard Dollar/Bluebeam)
• Experience with construction ERPs. (Viewpoint)
• Competent at reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
• Able to work independently as well as being part of a team.
• Must possess strong mathematical and analytical skills.
