Job ID #9203019

The position of Senior Corporate Manager of Information Technology develops, implements and manages the company’s information management strategy.  The position will be responsible for providing secure, scalable and cost effective IT infrastructure, networking, connectivity and workspaces.  By understanding business requirements, this role will identify and developing effective solutions that integrates process, technology, design, development, implementation, and support of the organization’s information systems, software applications, infrastructure and security.

Reporting directly to the CFO, the Senior Corporate Manager of Information Technology will plan, coordinate, direct, and design all operational activities of the IT department, as well as provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. This individual will collaborate directly with the management team and decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.

In addition, the Corporate Manager of Information Technology primary goals are to develop and manage application portfolios for each department and attain all IT service level agreements for the user community within the organization. This role also helps to provide vision and leadership for developing and implementing information technology initiatives across all areas of the organization.

Important perspectives that the successful candidate will need to have includes:

Security as an enabler of business and data protection: Today, Information Security is more embedded as a critical piece of enterprise risk management. As a result, IT security has matured into a new central role within the enterprise requiring more of a business or product development orientation. Protecting the company from data loss, breaches and adverse publicity now means IT security going well beyond the traditional perimeter-focused technical role in firewall configurations and antivirus updates.

Understanding business practices, approaches, organization, politics, and culture: Understand the business needs and help the business understand what technology can and cannot do to help reach business goals. And equally important: help IT understand what the business needs and translate those business needs to actual IT propositions.

Influencing and persuading:  Decision makers and senior leadership won’t always have the most knowledge about the relevant subject matter, so the ability to bring them along in order to capitalize on opportunities will be critical for this position.  It will also be important for leading the IT team. The best IT professionals don't like instructions on how to do stuff. They want to understand the problem, the governance within which they should operate and the freedom to act.

Being adaptable: Changes in IT are fast. What is best in class today, is old school tomorrow. A flexible mind set and a willingness to learn constantly is an important competency
