Reporting to the Foreman, the Water Truck Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a water truck to maintain optimal moisture levels on gravel and clay road surfaces or backfill.
How You’ll Add Value
- Actively contribute to the safety culture, promoting a safe and productive work environment
- Efficiently load, transport, and distribute water to designated areas to support dust control and site operations
- Perform daily maintenance, safety checks, and monitor vehicle performance, fluid levels, and mechanical fitness
- Spray water from a hose as required to assist with the compaction of soils for the backfilling process
- Demonstrate safe machine startup, operation, and shutdown procedures
- Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of a Water Truck
- Operate additional heavy equipment as required to support project needs
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:
Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years of experience operating a truck in heavy civil construction
- Physically fit to stand for extended periods of time
- Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with a Driver’s Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions
